Huskers add Tulane transfer QB Tanner Lee

The Nebraska football team added more depth to their quarterback position for the future on Saturday.

Former Tulane starting quarterback Tanner Lee announced on Twitter that he will officially be transferring to NU. The 6-foot-4, 220 pound Lee started 19 games at Tulane the last two seasons and will have one year of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2016 season.

His addition to the Husker roster is critical, because after the 2016 season Nebraska graduates both Tommy Armstrong Jr. and Ryker Fyfe - the only two signal callers on the current team with any game experience.

The last two seasons at Tulane Lee threw for 3,601 yards passing and 23 touchdowns, to go along with 21 interceptions. Lee missed time this past season with a concussion and a broken finger, and also saw his passing stats limited because of his injured finger.

Current NU wide receivers coach Keith Williams also coached Lee at Tulane in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
