Nebraska started its junior day off fast by landing a commitment from four-star wide receiver Jaevon McQuitty of Columbia (Mo.) Battle this morning.

The Huskers became the first overall school to offer the 6-foot-2, 190-pound wideout when he visited for the Red-White Spring Game last April. Nearly a year later, he announced his commitment to NU via Twitter.

McQuitty is currently ranked as the No. 44 overall receiver in the nation and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Missouri for 2017. He chose Nebraska over offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Maryland, Miami of Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and home state school Missouri.

The four-star receiver joins Florida linebacker Willie Hampton, giving the Huskers two commits in its 2017 class thus far.
